Yamaha rider Ben Spies was enthusiastic welcome mat to the 12th MotoGP series in the United States, on August 28, 2011. Although constrained to a hand injury, the host star is still hoping she took the podium at the Indianapolis circuit.
Of the 18 series all season, Indianapolis Grand Prix is the most anticipated race by Spies. Not just acting in front of his own supporters, but the Indianapolis leave good memories for drivers born 27 years ago this.
Because the 2010 season, when his debut in MotoGP with Yamaha satellite team, Tech 3, Spies successfully securing pole position and won the second podium. A very proud achievement for the former World Superbike rider, considering he was then still predicated as a rookie.
In order to restore his success last season, Spies brings high confidence to menggeber his YZR-M1 at the end of next week. Despite still feeling the disruption in his hand, tandem Jorge Lorenzo on the podium is still ambitious.
"I really hope my condition is really fit at the weekend. My arm was still experiencing numbness, but it was better than when in Brno (August 14). We always work hard to restore it and of course we will play 100 percent, "said Spies as reported by Crash, Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
"I look forward to the race (Indianapolis) during the year. Last year, the race was fierce, where as a rookie were able to take pole position and finishing second. We will be presenting the best performances in front of fans and just wait what we can do, "said the racer who is now ranked sixth standings.
