Sunday, August 7, 2011

Ahead of tomorrow’s testing session at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, the Yamaha Factory Racing Team unveiled its new livery today, presenting the machine with which it aims to defend its third consecutive triple crown victory.
As you can see in the adjacent images, the team’s 2011 MotoGP contender features a Yamaha corporate blue colour scheme incorporating the iconic Yamaha speed block design.

Riding the new YZR-M1 machine will be 2010 Rookie of the Year Ben Spies and current World Champion Jorge Lorenzo.

"The bike's feeling really good, we've got a few days more of testing now to really shake it down and fine tune the set up and we'll be ready to go. I'm loving the corporate blue colour scheme, I'm a big fan of the design,"stated Spies at the unveiling.

Tomorrow's test, running from February 22-24 is the second of three pre-season tests, with the third and final at Qatar on the 13th March in advance of the opening round of the 2011 championship the following week.
