What is Objectives your site?

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 | 0 comments

What is Objectives your site?, In an article this SEO tutorials series will be discussed about the destination - or rather the usefulness - of your site. For who? In turn is for you, but before you 'get' your turn to be 'give' first. So the purpose or use of this site at first is for the user / audience.
  • How is your site to solve major problems of its target audience?
  • What information is presented to users?
  • Actions users what you want on each page served, and how these actions related to your main goal?

Maybe now you think and this not SEO!

You are right. The points above are not the traditional SEO. Only to be understood that SEO is very much changed since the last few years, when the perpetrators are aware that SEO is just one part of the process of site monetization. Different skill with the skill SEO web design or copywriting, you still must know the elements of both (web design / copywriting and SEO) SEO results converted to well.

what good is traffic free (SEO) if there is no mechanism to turn it into income?
We'll talk about conversion analysis later, for now make a list of:
  • Information / functions / what page your site will be presented on its users?
  • How did the first points on a role in achieving the primary (and secondary) of your site?
  • What steps do you want the reader to do in these pages?
After creating the list, time to evaluate your site to assess the current condition and compare it with the condition that it should be.

Analysis an Existing Site

Evaluate your site by  following checklist:
  • What is already focusing on the major issues the audience? If not, why, and what can be done to fix it?
  • What is already providing all the information you needed? If not, why, and how would you do?
  • Does each page have anything to do with the purpose of primary / secondary set? If not there, meaning there is no point. Can be removed or placed on the page more relevant?
  • Does each page have a clear purpose? The front page and category pages usually are less focused, but each page can be made internally very focused and it should have one (and only one) purpose of existence.
Now position yourself as a user, who has just 'landed' on an internal page via a search on search engines.

Which is roughly what you want?

Of course the answer depends on the context and benefits of the site, but if you can adopt a basis of thinking and apply it on each page, then you will have a highly focused sites, which not only generate traffic but also to convert it into income.

New Site

Usually easier to build a site from scratch that directly focus on conversion and on-site SEO is better than optimize and develop a site that already exist.

On the other hand, are usually already have existing websites backlinks so that efforts could further link building easier (or possible problems when URLs change much), plus the already 'known' search engine.

If it is considered carefully and there is a picture of your site's purpose, then when the redesign is a great time to refocus. You can do SEO, content writing and conversion from the beginning.

Success Indicators and Monitoring
Consequences of goal setting is that you also have to determine indicators of success and monitor progress.
For example, for a site, I define success indicator (within 1 year) as follows:
  • 3000 hits per day. Have worked out a niche that the larger space, but the range I specify as the minimum target.
  • $ 500 per month. I use affiliate programs, direct advertising and AdSense.
  • Occupying page #1 (top 10) for the main keyword, and the top 5 key words for the second and third tier (long tail keywords).
  • Formed community (forums) with at least 250-500 active members.
The goal above is to be achieved, it is the minimum target (traffic and revenue) can I expect if you do it fulltime.

How do you measure success? For some items - such as AdSense and keyword ranking, you may be very different purposes, depending on how competitive a niche target and how much daily traffic can be expected from the key words that were targeted. Position # 1 for popular keywords can produce 10,000 hits per day with ease, but also definitely fierce competition.
You have to do keyword research and competition analysis before it can determine indicators of success.

If indicators of success have been determined, perform monthly monitoring (for traffic and search rankings I'll show you his tools). If you do not see any progress every month, then you must make an evaluation and find out where the problem is.

Search Engine Results Page

Sunday, December 11, 2011 | 0 comments

Search Engine Results Page (SERP) is the page you see after you type in keywords to search on various search engines. The page contains links to various sites that are considered most relevant to the keywords you are looking for.

It should be noted that search engines rank each page of a website, not on the website itself. It's basic, but pegertiannya profound, because it means that you can optimize each page for different keywords. This is beneficial because your site has a lot of 'entrance' and greater opportunities for getting visitor traffic.

Each search engine (we only focus on 3 major search engines, and more specifically on Google) rank and display search results in a different way.
Knowing how each search engine (Google, Yahoo, and Bing) displays the search results is important, because from each SERP search engine you can see important clues about the 'entrance' or entry point for your keyword search / seek.

Then, understand the components that are displayed on search results listings will help you optimize your website.
Most of the search will not see more than the first page of SERP. The reason? Because searchers find what they are looking out of 10 results displayed, or they repeat the search with a more precise keyword.

Think about your own search pattern - if you dig through the 20th page of search results to find the search in, or you click on some of the results first and then explore some of the sites back to the search query phrase used to fix?
This habit has become a recurring pattern (search, browse, edit, re - to find what they need).

Therefore, the first page of search results can be regarded as 'real estate' high value.

The more you know what is on that page (and how do I go in there), the better chance your site are in the 'land' is.

Each search engine displays some of the same information on their SERP:
  1. Search tersponsor (sponsored ads - at the top or right column of search results)
  2. Search-related (related searches - to help refine the search query)
  3. Links to a number of internal pages or the content properties such as:
  • Google News, Google Finance, Google Groups, Google Images, Google Maps, Google Video
  • Yahoo Shopping, Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Maps, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Video, Yahoo Directory
  • Live QnA
    4. Organic search results (naturally, according to the search algorithm)

All of the above is a great way to get into the top 10 search page for your target keywords and offers an alternative entrance to the first page of SERP. Search images (Image Search), for example, can direct a lot of traffic to your site.

Search Results

Each search engine displays search results with much the same way - the page title + a few lines of description pages which are usually taken from the page itself or from the listing in DMOZ. (dmoz.org is the largest directory of Internet sites are edited manually)

Sometimes Google and Yahoo also display additional links of their internal pages. Yahoo for example displays listings from Yahoo Directory if relevant websites by searching in the directory.

Bing offers less information, but this could change with development.

The existence of additional links (site links) to a specific section on your website in SERP will help searchers narrow their search on your site, making them easier to find what they need (and if done properly, it generated more traffic).

Not all websites get a 'bonus' from the search engines. Popularity of the site (from the number of links 'pointing' site) effect, but to get site links is to create a clear navigation structure on the website or web page (web page - distinguish between means), navigation can be easily accessed both by the search engines and users (humans). In other words, the way you organize your site and where you place the link navigation plays an important role here.

Yahoo offers the option to 'get more results', Google also provides the option 'similar pages' (both featuring similar pages with a page that is displayed on the SERP, based on an analysis of backlinks and the topic of the site).

Note: Looks like the search engines begin to offer the facilities 'bookmarks' in the search results - Google already offers this with the option 'Note this'.

So what is the importance of all this?

If your site popular, categorization is shown as site links will feel the effect.

But if the sites do not have site links, then the focus of attention is on the title page (title page) and description (description) are displayed on search results pages.

There are four main elements in the individual search results.
There four main elements in the individual search results.
  1. Title page , taken from the Title tag page.
  2. Description of sites / pages that are usually taken from the meta description tag if there is (and that's what happened in the case above). If not, search engines usually take a piece of text that contain the keyword search, or use the description from Dmoz listing.
  3. URI of the page. Create a URI is as clear as possible so that the search can easily figure out where they will 'land'.
  4. Site links are 'gifts' to clear navigation as I described above - the navigation is good as it is also boosted rank and should be applied from the beginning.
Note the page title, description, and URI, because these three elements that will be the first impression in the eyes of the search on your site in Search Engine Results Page (SERP). This first impression will be the subject of the search decision, whether they will click it or go to the next search result.

Search marketing is not just dwell on the technical aspects of the 'right', but also an understanding of how to write a visitor clicks the right to obtain a maximum, and finally a high ranking websites can be fully utilized.

Understanding Search Engines

So how exactly how search engines work in the context of SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?

Search Engine Index

Although it is important to understand how search engines 'read' a website and store it in the index, for us SEO experts is more relevant to know how to keep our site can be listed in the search engine's index.

Here is only one way of 'true' to our website quickly indexed, and how it is:
Got a link / links from other websites that point to our site (do link building).

The way that "not true" is; using the registration form (inclusion / submission form) on the search engines, using software that "guarantee" your web site listed in search engines, paying spammers who offer services for your website listed in 100 + search engine.

Overall it was a waste of time and cost. Avoid these ways, and do not use the submission form on the search engines.

Why?

Because it makes your site indexed by search engines is easy IF you know how.

And what do I get a link from another site?

There are several ways to get links to your website easily and for free (even more ways if you want to exit costs) where your new site will be indexed in Google within 2-4 days since the first online and in a matter of hours or even minutes after receiving the link.
Note: At the end of this SEO Tutorial you will find many articles about link building at the launch phase of new website. To understand the search engines and get the best inbound links to your site, know one thing;

 Crawling Frequency
Crawling is a term used to describe the behavior of the bot / spider search engine (bot short for robot) is a computer program that serves to 'read' site. Robots or 'spider' harness is a link to move from one site to another - that's why you need a link to your site.

Crawling frequency is the value that states how often a site 'read' by search engines. This frequency depends on several factors, but there are two main factors you should consider:
  1. Freshness / freshness (how often your site content updated)
  2. Site importance (how many links are linking to the site)
If you get links from sites that is updated frequently, is certain that the links to your site will be quickly found by the "spider" and of course the result of your site indexed quickly.

example:
Performancing.com is a popular site for professional bloggers - updated every day and have tens of thousands of links that link to it from various websites and other blogs.

Just one of Performancing.com link to your site will make the search engine robots know where your site immediately.

Another example:
Article direcory like EzineArticles.com are usually updated several times a day (with lots of new articles uploaded every day) and have thousands of inbound links (inbound links). Sending an article to a directory like that (and done right) will make your site indexed quickly.

There are many free or paid software that facilitate the delivery articles to hundreds of article directories on the internet. By submitting articles, you not only get quality links from article directories, but also there is the possibility of other sites will pick up and load your article, the result is even more links 'pointing' your site.

Examples of pay:
Yahoo Directory (http://dir.yahoo.com/) is an online directory. Cost of pairs of links in the directory for $ 299/tahun, certainly not a cheap cost for most of us.

The advantage worth the price. Listed in Yahoo Directory (process takes a week - because you are on-site review was) not only ensures that your site indexed in all search engines, your site's ranking on the search page will also be boosted (especially in Yahoo, which also lists the directory contents on the search results page and give more priority on the websites listed in that directory).

The examples above show how you can use high-quality links to your site can be indexed quickly.

The sources of quality links as above is easy to get, if he knew how to do it right. Of course I will explain how, but for now let's see 'puzzle' other: the search results page (SERP - Search Engine Result Page) in the next article.

Stay tune and get yourself updated.

SEO : Importance and Priority System

Having a 'system' to achieve the goal is the next step for someone who must complete a project type more than once. Example: web designers who have completed 10-20 sites per year have a system, the programmers who work on large projects, obedient to the 'system' of their work, etc.

If you do not already have a system, it is time to think of SEO as a system of activities and an effective process to generate targeted traffic (targeted traffic) to your website from search engines.

A system is called effective if the system can help you meet the target every time you undergo a similar project (not the same - because there has never been the same project).

And as explained earlier, the focus on the work of the most effective and remain effective in the long run, not the easiest or cheapest, or fastest, or who spelled by Google (and other search engines).

Do what works now and later.

Create a Priority
If you already have a basic system to perform various SEO activities, prioritize and determine which tasks to do first would be easier.

Just as in real life, in SEO there are also a number of activities that need a little time and effort but have a major impact on the ranking in search engines. Remember the 80-20 rule (Pareto law)? This is also true in SEO, and this certainly makes our lives so much easier as SEOer.

The tasks of the most important SEO takes time about 15-25% of the SEO project life cycle, and give effect to the results of 70-85%. For example:
  • Optimizing the Title tags on your blog just took less than 2 minutes, but the result is very clear on how the blog pages appear in search engines.
  • Pay the directory listing (directory submissions) on Yahoo takes 5 minutes, but the links that you pay is more valuable than to submit to 100 free directories that have been dying bombarded spam.
Ask yourself how important you are doing before you do, this is into priority basis. Make 'ask yourself' is a habit, because that way you save a lot of time and make you more focused on things more important in SEO.

Ranked # is NOT everything!

In fact, the overflow traffic (due to occupy page 1 or position # 1) from SEO results is useless if you do not have a way to capitalize on the traffic. It's a fact.

If you have any specific goals for the website, you will also have a clear picture of the target audience and what they should do (action) when they visit your website.
Perhaps this action in the form of registration (signup), sales, click on the ads, Feed / RSS subscription, etc.

If your site does not do the 'job', then all the rankings and traffic which get wasted.

In conclusion; Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is something great if it works, but you also must know how to utilize the best possible traffic.

SEO Mindset

Thinking Long Term

Search Engine Optimization program is not a 'get rich quick', nor is it a short-term activities that only provide temporary results with risk is blacklisted by search engines.

The article is part of a series of SEO tutorial does not discuss the ethics of air-SEO, in my opinion (feel free to think otherwise) search engines provide a service, as for the guidelines and policies that they spend is not the 'law' or the regulations, but merely a general statement (general statement ).

General statements are often ambiguous and did not give clear instructions about what to do 'SEO fighters' for keywords they got a coveted ranking in the SERP.
Even so, risking your website by doing optimization as opposed to the policies of search engines and can be detected by search engines is stupid.

There are many better ways to dominate SERP without having to do things that can make your site kicked by Google, Bing or Yahoo.

The pattern of thinking in the long term SEO should be-if you do SEO for short-term profits, then it is NOT SEO, but the trick to exploit the weaknesses of search engines.

SEO is a process that takes time, a number of factors used to determine the position on Google for example, using time as an element of calculation.
Concepts such as link-aging, sandbox (or trustbox, depending on your perspective), quality filters, and domain-aging (do not worry, these concepts will be explained later) to make your site might not be # 1 in an instant - at least not on Google .

For the previous example (Site A and B):
  • Site A will occupy the # 1 position in 1-6 months, depending on what you do and how strong a site that currently occupies the # 1 position.
  • Site B, it takes 6-12 months to reach the top, again depending on how fast you move and what keywords are being targeted.
Basically - SEO takes time to be effective, so whatever you have planned, make sure that the plan is long term and take into account long-term consequences of your actions.

Got Your Thoughts

Often I see SEO experts who follow whatever is taught "teacher", or believe anything said to trust Google as a holy book.
But like what I said earlier - there are many ways to do SEO, and of course there is no 'wrong' or 'right' in SEO. SEO is about the most effective strategies in making your site are top of the search results page (SERP), and that is what should into your focus.

Blindly believe everything that Google or 'SEO teachers' say it is not good. You should consider the opinion of other parties to the contrary, compared with the results you get, and if possible do your own experiments.

One example, which is about the links paid (paid links). Google expressly says that paid links for the purpose of obtaining ranking in search engines can not be tolerated and sites that do so will be penalized, but on the other hand paid links for traffic purposes (direct advertising) it's okay wrote. This raises the debate in the SEO world, whether paid links "right or wrong".

Do not be a slave to Google or anyone else who teaches you about SEO - there is no single magic formula for all situations in SEO, and therefore there is no 'right' or 'false'.

But this also does not mean you have to conflict with Google. You just have to keep an open mind and focus on what proved to be successful and guaranteed to last for the long term.
Do not believe it whatever is said of Google, or the "god of SEO", or me. Note the development of the world of SEO, focus, and dig your own experience.

SEO and Not SEO

Most people - okay, almost everyone who recently joined the world of SEO - SEO is simply equated with rank # 1 for a website in Google.

But the truth is SEO is much broader than that. There are three main steps process SEO:
  1. Like other business, you must define and identify your target audience (target market). Here you not only specify the purpose of making the website and describe the audience profile, but also monitoring the competition / competition and evaluate what is needed in order to 'dominate' a particular sector or niche that you are applying.
  2. You perform the steps necessary to make your website gets the highest possible ranking in search engines for key words (keywords) that are often used target audience of the website. This step includes the things you have done to the site itself (if you create a new website should make sure that the site is search engine friendly from the start). Then this step also includes conduct off-site activities which aims to create another website to link to your site.
  3. You monitor the development of your website in search engines are constantly or continuously and perform various adjustments on SEO strategies in times of need.
It should be noted that SEO is not an online activity aimed at generating traffic / visitors (or promote) your website. Strange with this statement? Try to understand more.

What is NOT SEO
  • Online advertising , which is to buy promotion to get traffic from other sites is NOT SEO. This is a promotional site (site promotion) even though the purchased promotional links may help rankings in search engines.
  • Public relations (press releases, advertisements in mass media, a review of the blog) is NOT SEO. Again this is a promotional site, which may result in links to your site.
  • Creating a website that exploits a weakness in the search engine algorithms in order to be ranked # 1 for selected keywords in a short time is NOT SEO. This is search engine spamming, which I will not discuss further.
  • SEO is not a trick to get several thousand visitors to your site within 24 hours.
  • SEO is not always free - some effective SEO techniques would cost.
  • Creating a book and ebook and give it away free to visitors of your site is NOT SEO.
However most of the activities above is NOT SEO CAN into part of SEO strategy if you want to do it that way. Do not forget that SEO itself is generally one part of a larger strategy to promote your site. Separation and understand more other promotional activities from the activity if you are a professional SEO.

SEO and Not SEO

SEO: determination Objectives

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 | 0 comments

SEO effort is useless if you do not have a clear picture of:
  • Destination site that is SEO-it
  • Who that the target visitors
  • What you want them to do
  • What your long term goals
  • The progress made from time to time
In addition, you should know the best way to attract the attention of the audience (keyword that attracted the most attention) and how much effort should be made to achieve the objectives (competitive analysis / competitive analysis).

What is Objectives your site?

Determine objectives to be achieved by your site, write large on paper or whiteboard or any media easily visible, do not write on the computer when I have to manually open the file first.

For some people, the site is an extension of the life / interest / their business, aims to publicize and draw attention to what is done in the offline world. For others, the site of interest IS / business itself. This difference is certainly affecting a lot of things and priorities.

What is main objectives your site? Is it to sell something? Is it to attract subscribers to your mailing list? Whether as an online storefront to provide basic information about your product on a customer?

For most companies, branding is the main objective to have a site. For other companies, the site serves as a means of building community for products and / or services.

Your objective (or objectives companies) and business strategies that are used have a major influence on how to setup and use such sites.

For simplicity, I give two examples, a real case of an online company, and the fictitious example of an offline business that want to utilize websites to generate clients.

Example # 1:
StatCounter example, an online company that is known to provide traffic tracking services. StatCounter provides counter service that is easy to use, non-intrusive and free, of course it's just 'sweetener' for people to try their service before selling pay services (which eliminates many limitations of the free version).

So what was the main objectives StatCounter?

Main Goal: To provide the best service paid hit tracking

The main purpose will help you focus and stay on the right track when you decide what to do with the site. Objectives could be more than one, for that you divide it into one main objectives and one (or more) secondary objectives.

Returning to the example StatCounter, their secondary goal is approximately:
Secondary Goal: Selling ad space for monetization popularity and visitor traffic as an additional income.

Example # 2:
Imagine the imaginary case of a freelance web designer; Mbah yuyu, that want to use the site for the presentation of a portfolio (the work). Incidentally this Urip Mbah a desire to teach and to share knowledge through its website. Plus, Mbah Urip want to get extra income apart from design services, then he also wants to sell site templates and custom scripts on his website.

Main Goal: To attract the attention of prospective clients

Secondary Goal # 1: Write about web design techniques and knowledge sharing
Secondary Goal # 2: Get income from selling scripts and templates.

A good example of this second that secondary goals mbah yuyu support and is still closely connected with the main objective - template and the article is an additional means to attract more customers / clients.
Ideally secondary objective is limited to at most 3 (less is better). Sole focus is very helpful in sharpening your SEO efforts.

Of course a lot of objectives and expect a lot from your site is also not something that is forbidden. Then, somehow make sure that you do not lose focus and let too many objectives evolve so none that achieved.

Creating SEO Plan

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 | 0 comments

In vain did have the information but do not have the knowledge and desire to use it effectively. You're reading one article SEO Tutorial, so I assume you have the desire to take advantage of SEO knowledge.

Having had the desire, you must have a plan. In management science, the best plan is a plan that is flexible, but it contains enough detail to guide you and enables you to modify it as needed.

This article will introduce the four phases in the planning of SEO.

Why 4, not 5 or 3? Well, because for me 4 this step gives the best results - and the fourth step is the basic template for  SEO campaigns I usually do. Four phase is not something raw, please change your course (not reduced substance). Suppose on the launch phase of the site, if you feel that phase should be split into two, do it. Then if you want to combine steps 2 and 3 (optimization of the site and the launch site), please combine. Are free.

Phase 1: Research

This is the first important part of SEO planning and actually not too difficult and tedious as expected many prospective fighters SEO.

Admittedly, I am not someone who likes to sink in the planning and research. I myself usually 'just do it' and fix things later. Research must be done, but should not make you weigh too much so it was never in action.

Research phase is also very easy to miss, be due not know how, could be because of the temptation to 'just do it' is too high at the time to find something that I find interesting.

Whatever the reason, remember one thing: if you want to conquer the targeted market segments, you HAVE to do research. The point.

Determination Objectives
What is the purpose of your site, imagine the ideal audience for the site.

Keyword Research
If you already know the topic to be taken (and have a picture of your audience), collect what keywords are commonly used and the data associated with those keywords.

Competitive Analysis
Analysis of the competition to be faced. Who are the competitors, and what they've done in SEO / online marketing.

Phase 2: Building / Site Optimization

This phase is different for each SEO project, depending on whether the site is new or old / established.

Keyword and Content Sites
How to use keywords on your site, how to break down the key words on some pages and how to organize sites based on keywords.
On-Page SEO
Optimizing web page elements: title tags, meta tags, keyword usage and avoid duplication of content.
Site Architecture
Architecture site is about how you arrange the pages of the site (internal linking), search engine friendly URLs and use the sitemap.

Phase 3: Launch Site

Basics of Link Building
The basic things in practice an effective link building, link type is needed, and how you will do so in the long run.

Site Launch Links
The types of links are needed at the site was launched (go online) so that its presence known search engines, so that web pages indexed and simultaneously boosted its position because of trust and authority obtained.

Phase 4: Long-Term SEO

Been described from the beginning that Search Engine Marketing is a long term commitment and should be done consistently. This means you must be content to build consistent, consistently perform link building and consistently monitor the results of your work (based on traffic and position on the SERP), then do the fine tuning (improvements) in your SEO activities.

Sources Links
Where did your site get a link? It will be shown 10 sources link and how to find it.
link Partners
How to use search engines to find potential link partners.
Valuation Links
How to assess the quality of a link, and how this affects the quality of the practice of link building.
content Quality
Content how the right to insert a link and how to form a habit to create quality content.
monitoring
Using the analytical tools and data to narrow down the search rankings and drive campaign SEO / link building.

That's the things you should know and include when creating SEO plan. This is only a first. Each phase of the above will be described in separate articles.

rating factors in search engine

Monday, November 14, 2011 | 0 comments

Not all rating factors in search engine rankings are important, several ranking factors such as PageRank (PR) is only important in certain conditions. Others such as META tags, functions only to refine the details and not very big influence on the position in search engines.

You must know factors are needed to dominate the three major search engines effectively. Starting from this article I will discuss about the main factors and how each of these factors are treated differently from search engines. Will be discussed also other factors and examples optimization.

Generally it is difficult for a website to occupy the top position on a search engine, especially on more than one at a time. Webmasters often complain about the 'absence' their site on Google, but the site it occupies the top position in Yahoo, or any other case, occupies a position of 'good' on Google but had no position at all in the Bing.

Develop an effective SEO strategy in order to 'control' Google. Yahoo, and Bing (we also include Ask for comparison) at once is difficult, but not impossible.

In the previous article about the factors that assessed a variety of search engines you've seen how the nature of each search engine in the ranks. Next I'll explain a little about Ask first (fourth most popular search engines) then we'll talk about the factors that can boost your site positions in all search engines in subsequent articles.

I will also discuss more details about the Google Sandbox and Pagerank, and why these two factors important to understand and how you can use it - yes, if you think about it, there are ways to take advantage of 'sandbox effect' of this.

Does your site will be secured in the top position in Google, Yahoo, and Bing later? No, I do not guarantee anything (let alone the winds of heaven).

To be sure, I will show that there are ways to get ranked on all three major search engines and you can also do it.

Top position? Not necessarily.
The first page? Very, very possible.

Ask - A Forgotten Search Engines

Ask.com search engine is often referred to as the most accurate, but less well known, and because the current market dominance enjoyed by Google and Yahoo make almost no room left for alternative search engines.

Even so, if Ask just over 5 percent market share of searches, this is the 5 percent that you CAN nets with using the principles of good search marketing. So why not?

Things to know about Ask:
  • Have a great weight to the assessment authority  of a topic and relevance of the links.
  • Slow to index and rank
  • Similar to Google in terms of giving more weight to the link / link instead of on-page optimization.
Ask a large weighting given to the links that are on-topic, make Ask.com as a good measuring tool to assess whether your site gets the right kind of links (and the relevant authority). Ask an emphasis on the topic of grouping also means that your site will not get a good ranking (even not be indexed properly) if you do not have a few inbound links from similar niche.

Ask this matter need not worry about it, I also would not discuss it further. To remember is to check your site position in Ask.com is a good way to assess how on-topic and what aspect of your site on-topic should be improved.

How with Other Search Engines?

In the previous article about the factors considered by Google, has been described 3 factors whatever be the size of the 'quality' by Google. In this article I will summarize what the main ranking factors, both on Google and other search engines.

Yahoo, MSN (Bing), etc.

The dominance of Google and Yahoo put Bing on second and third most important position in the SEO effort that we do (Ask who finished fourth, only controls nearly 5% of the total search market).

There is an interesting thought - because many reports that say it is easier to get SERP rankings and master pages in Yahoo and Bing, rather than 'master' of Google.

I myself think that it depends on SEO strategies are applied. There are many websites that receive the majority of traffic from Google, and almost no traffic was coming from Yahoo or Bing. There are also many websites that get high rankings in Yahoo, but quite low on Google. The difference that I see just from how to promote these sites and link building methods are used.

Which is more important / valuable?

Google controls more than 50% (this figure seems still going up and maybe even higher as you read this article) of all search traffic, so according to my 'master' Google has more value.

Which is more easily optimized?

SEO world generally agree that Google is the most difficult in-optimization. I personally think the statement is less fair, especially since most fighters SEO uses strategies that 'expired' and too much attention to the things that Google itself does not consider important again in 3-4 years.

The old way still lets you get a good ranking in Google, but with the method of 'old school' is actually better your chances at Yahoo and other search engine than Google.

It is precisely the big question is - what ranking factors are used all three major search engines, and how we as webmasters can use them for our website?

Monitoring Developments in World

There are several websites that monitor developments in the world of search engines are complete and up-to-date, we just monitor the course website.

My favorite is the 3 sites below :
Search Engine Land - Provides complete reporting. The main contributor Danny Sullivan and Barry Schwartz, supported by many other contributors such as Eric Ward, Gord Hotchkiss, Greg Sterling, Bill Slawski, etc..
Search Engine Roundtable - discussion topics and the best of the search world (mainly from various forums), by Barry Schwartz.
Search Engine Journal - The combination of reportage and tutorials search the world of SEO, SEO services have a Clinic, which provides free consultations twice a month. By Loren Baker.

while 3 were used, three were just bound to make you busy dive into the world of SEO.

If you need a source of more weighty reading, please visit the SEO by the Sea by Bill Slawski which contains analysis of various algorithms and ranking technology that patented by Google, Yahoo, and MSN (Bing). Reading that good, but I was not reading that match if you are not inclined to engage in a professional in SEO.

The next article will explore the factors ranking (ranking factors) and the reason why these factors are important (and why it will remain important far in the future). Stay tuned!

What is that Google Want? - Part 2

Saturday, November 12, 2011 | 0 comments

Continuing the previous article on what the Google wants. We're talking about relevance, trust, and authority. The first part is explains what relevance, and how do we improve the quality of the relevance of our web page with what is sought. Section 2 of this talk about trust and authority.

Authority

Authority is an indicator of 'social' over how strong a site or a web page is considered as a 'source' a particular topic. Authority marks the expertise, and recognition of the expertise of the world and also from outside the industry.

If for example you have a website 'golf accessories' and there are many other golf sites that link to your site, it shows (in the eyes of Google) that your site is the source that authority about 'golf accessories'.

Then, if there are a number of sites outside of golf topics that link to your site, then the status of authority became stronger. Even so, the links coming from sites with a topic you have more value, because these sites are also considered to have authority on the same topic with your site.

The quality of incoming links or inbound links linking to your site based on the less to the most qualified are from:
  1. Sites with few backlinks and not related to your niche site.
  2. Sites with lots of inbound links (have authority) and not associated with segments of your site.
  3. Sites with few backlinks and is associated with segment of your site.
  4. Sites with many incoming links (authority) and have a topic related to your niche site.
Backlinks, inbound links, incoming links, have a meaning roughly the same as inbound links. Niche, and the segments are the same. Do not confuse ya.
The points above should be considered when you arrive at the process of link building. Hunting is a link that has authority over things that are art.

Each web page can also have the authority as well as the main website, so linking to web pages in isolation (the term; deep linking) is very important as part of the process of link building.

Trust

Finally, about trust, which is a measure that states how reliance on a website in providing accurate information. Google uses a number of factors to measure trust; authority and relevance are two of them, the next determining factor is the incoming links from sites 'trusted' other.

One other important factor in measuring trust is the time, and this latter factor that often makes the SEOer and webmasters to be insane, because the time factor is causing what is known as the 'sandbox'.

Term sandbox is interpreted as a filter in Google's ranking algorithm that prevents a site or web page to be ranked that high before 'graduating' some point threshold .

Regardless of whether this sandbox does exist, I tend to argue that Google is not no business to 'discriminate', but they have clear goals as reasons for the determination of quality, which is to present the results of the most 'qualified' to search. And this time based filters, that measures the age of the site, how often is updated, the age of the link with authority, etc. are the measures currently reasonable to assess that quality.

Trust or belief as in the real world; takes time and needs to be proven. But there are some strategies (still in the corridor that allowed Google) that you can run to accelerate this process of trust and authority. However, getting ranked in Google still takes time and long term, so keep you mentally prepare for the patient. Depending on the chosen niche and SEO strategies that used, the results can be felt in 6 to 18 months.
There are a number of aspects of the overlapping of the three factors described above. Anchor text for example, can be used to measure the relevance, as well as authority, while links from popular and highly ranked sites closely related to the authority and trust.
I think it is sufficient explanation of SEO tutorials today.

What is that Google Want?

Friday, November 11, 2011 | 0 comments

In February 2007, Google search is used by 48.1 percent across the United States - almost twice as Yahoo (28.1 percent) and more than four times the users of MSN (now Bing - 10.5 per cent) - Source: comScore, February 2007 (http://www.comscore.com/press/release.asp?press=1255).

Yes, indeed a number that indicates the power of 'the almighty Google', the numbers displayed also indicates that Google's market share is still growing, has not kept pace with Yahoo, and MSN are declining. MSN that later became Bing today introduced a range of innovations to strengthen its foothold in the search market.

Looks like it is no wonder why Google could dominate the market for it. Since the beginning of Google's put himself 'pure' as a search engine, Yahoo already known as the MSN portal and late 'to race'. Google's positioning and focus on the search, coupled with its existence as a pioneer of search technology (Google has been providing search services for Yahoo in the early days) to make Google far ahead and difficult to pursue.

For us as search marketer, it means that we must pay attention to what is arguably 'the mbah' Google, especially on what the goals Google as search engine.

For Google,  ranking means the case to find the most relevant web pages (relevance) and what to look for, comes from a website that 'trusted' (trusted) and is considered to have authority (authority) on the subject you are looking for.

Relevance

Relevance is measured based on the information that can be read by search engines from a web page. As I explain in this article; Components SERP: Search Engine Results Page, each web page (web page) you can open the public can act as a entry point for your website, and you can (and should) to optimize the site so that each page targeting the keyword (keyword) that different but still related.

There are several factors that are used on a web page to measure the relevance, the two most important are Title tag and the "use" keyword.

If a page talking about 'how to lose weight' and search using the keywords 'how to build a boat', then this page will not be considered relevant and will not be listed on the search results. Unlike the case when a page to talk about 'building your own boat on a budget', this page can be deemed to have a level of relevance is to the search query so that the chance of appearing on the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

Aspect of relevance is part of on-page SEO, namely modification / optimization that you do on your website pages to improve your position in search engines. This aspect focuses on efforts to improve the relevance or association web pages for the keywords targeted (quiet, on-page SEO will be removed as well).
